(MACON, Ga.) – The Macon Mayhem, proud members of the SPHL, announced Friday that they are signing forward Bohdan Zinchenko for the 2026-27 season.
Zinchenko, 24, from Kyiv, Ukraine, aims to make his SPHL debut this season after spending the first three years of his professional career in the FPHL. Through 119 games in the FPHL with the Danbury Hat Tricks, Dashers Hockey Club, Athens Rock Lobsters and Indiana Sentinels, Zinchenko has recorded 81 points (37 g, 44 a) including a career-best season of 32 points (14 g, 18 a) last year in Indiana.
“Bohdan’s a big body that with his hands can be very dangerous up front,” said Head Coach Dave Pszenyczny. “He plays a heavy game that we’re looking forward to seeing in person.”
Prior to going pro in the 2023-24 season, Zinchenko spent four years in the QJHL with the Valleyfield Braves, West Island Shamrocks, and Montreal Phoenix. In 114 games between those teams, he scored 79 points, including three straight seasons of 10+ goals. His 20 goals and 30 points for West Island in the 2021-22 season both led the team.
“I spent some time in Georgia last season, so I can’t wait to get back down south,” said Zinchenko. “I’ve heard good things about the team and the coaches. I’m so ready to meet everyone, get to work, and represent Macon.”
The Mayhem start training camp next week as they prepare for their pre-season exhibition in Athens on October 10! Call the Mayhem office at 478-803-1592 for more information or to purchase tickets for Mayhem home games.
