(MACON, Ga.) – The Macon Mayhem, proud members of the SPHL, announced Thursday that they are signing defenseman Cory Liu for the 2026-27 season.
Liu, 23, from Markham, Ontario, aims to make his professional debut this season after spending the last three years at NCAA D-III SUNY-Canton. In 72 games with the Roos, Liu recorded 21 points (2 g, 19 a). He also provided a physical presence, picking up 74 penalty minutes over the three seasons.
“Cory is a promising addition to our blue line,” said Head Coach Dave Pszenyczny. “He’s a simple, physical defenseman who can make a great first pass.”
Prior to his collegiate career, Liu played 53 games with the OJHL’s Milton Menace, where he had 14 assists in 53 games during the 2022-23 season.
“I am incredibly excited to be joining the Macon Mayhem organization,” said Liu. “I have heard nothing but great things about the team, the fans, and the city. Everything I have seen and heard so far has made me even more excited to get to Macon. I cannot wait to meet everyone, get to work with my teammates and coaches, and do everything I can to help the team succeed. I am looking forward to getting there, and working hard every day!”
