(MACON, Ga.) – The Macon Mayhem, proud members of the SPHL, announced Tuesday that they are signing forward AJ Schlepp for the 2026-27 season.
Schlepp, 27, from Medicine Hat, Alberta, began his professional career last season and established himself as one of minor league hockey’s premier enforcers from the get-go.
The 6-foot-8, 209-pound forward began his career with the FPHL’s Port Huron Prowlers and had at least five penalty minutes in all three games he played for the team, including 27 penalty minutes in the second game of his career. He then made his way to the Biloxi Breakers, where he had 305 penalty minutes in 34 games with the team.
“AJ is a real tough customer,” said Head Coach Dave Pszenyczny. “He’s going to hold other teams accountable for us. Our fans are going to love his style.”
Schlepp also played two games last season for the ECHL’s Worcester Railers, with fights in both games including a tilt against renowned enforcer Daniel Amesbury.
“I am very excited to play for the Mayhem this upcoming season,” said Schlepp. “I’ve heard nothing but great things about the organization and the fans. I can’t wait to bring energy and thrilling hockey to Macon!”
