(MACON, Ga.) – The Macon Mayhem, proud members of the SPHL, announced Tuesday that they are signing goaltender Dominic Basse for the 2026-27 season.
Basse, 25, from Alexandria, Va., comes to the Mayhem after a strong first professional season last year between the Pensacola Ice Flyers and multiple ECHL teams. In three starts with the Ice Flyers, the first two of which were wins over the Mayhem, Basse never allowed more than one goal in an appearance and put up a 2-1 record with 0.95 goals-against average and .969 save percentage.
“Dominic’s a big guy with his six-foot-six frame, and he obviously has pedigree,” said Head Coach Dave Pszenyczny. “He’s got great numbers at this level and a very high ceiling.”
Basse, a 2019 sixth-round draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks, comes from a prestigious hockey background including a five-year NCAA division-I career with Colorado College, St. Cloud State (where he was a member of the 2023 NCHC Champions), and St. Lawrence University. Last season, Basse carried a 7-7-3 record in the ECHL between the Utah Grizzlies, Tahoe Knight Monsters, and Orlando Solar Bears.
“I’m excited for the opportunity,” said Basse. “I’m looking forward to winning a lot of games.”
