(MACON, Ga.) – The Macon Mayhem, proud members of the SPHL, announced Sunday that the team has signed forward Matt Carlson after acquiring his rights from the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in exchange for future considerations.
Carlson, 25, from Delmar, NY, made his professional debut last season with Roanoke, scoring two goals in his first five pro games.
A prolific scorer at every level he’s played in thus far, Carlson enters his rookie season after a strong four-year career at NCAA division-III Wilkes University, where he scored 74 points (39 g, 35 a) in 91 games. He also tore up the EHL with the New Hampshire Avalanche for two seasons before that, with 88 points (37 g, 51 a) in 83 games, as well as 12 points (5 g, 7 a) in 12 playoff games for the team.
