Macon, Ga – The Macon Mayhem are excited to announce the signing of defenseman Jake Hamilton for the 2023-2024 season.
Macon acquired Hamilton through a trade with Peoria earlier in the summer.
Hamilton, 27, comes to Macon after finishing his 2022-2023 season with the Peoria Riverman. In 21 games, he tallied five points (1g, 4a). Last year, he began the season with the Norfolk Admirals putting up 1 assist in 8 games.
“I’m excited to add Jake’s leadership to the roster. He is a veteran guy coming from a winning organization with a winning attitude, just what we need in the Mayhem locker room,” commented Head Coach Nick Niedert.
In 2018-19, the 6-foot-2, 225-pound blueliner began his professional career with the Riverman playing his best season statistically. He recorded 16 points, 80 penalty minutes and finished the season +29 within 44 games. In 2019-20, he started the season with Peoria before being loaned to both Jacksonville Icemen and Kansas City Mavericks. In 2021-22, he played 33 games with the Adirondack Thunder after taking 2020-21’s season off.
Prior to turning pro, the O’Fallon, Missouri native played two seasons at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. In 54 games, Hamilton finished with eight points (4g, 4a) for the Yellow Jackets.
Hamilton is the fourth player signing announced for the 2023-24 season. Keep an eye on our social media channels for more player announcements as we announce the entire roster within the next few weeks.
